Ellison's Orange

This dessert apple has an unusual aromatic aniseed taste, and is best eaten shortly after picking. With keeping it tends to become greasy and loose flavour. The attractive stripes vary from orange-brown to deep red, and cover much of the fruit, which looks most attractive hanging on the tree.
